Welcome to Hillash miniature ponies.

Our ponies are kept alongside a herd of commerical beef, having drastically reduced the number of pedigree Dexter cattle to make way for our increasing pony numbers. Having bred New Forest ponies for several years we decided to downsize and miniature shetlands were the obvious choice. Even though we have kept ponies all our lives we were surprised at how playful and fun these little people are.

We have a wide range of colours, with a preference for duns and roans. We particulary like the New Park bloodlines as they are solid well-boned types. Our foundation stallion New Park McDuff sadly died in 2005, but we have retained several of his fillies. We now have three stallions;

Southsands Honeypot, nicknamed Teddy, although lighter in stature than McDuff, is producing some very pretty foals with lovely big eyes. He works really well with the chunky well boned mares. 

Wotknotts Squirrel Nutkin has given us some lovely well boned foals with a good mixture of colours and great laid back temperaments.

Athelney Pale Magic, the latest addition and has joined the stud to help Teddy out.  He is cream and white, with some blue in his eyes. We can't wait for his foals. 

All three stallions run out with their mares and foals and are very well behaved and easy to catch.  I think it is important to have stallions that are easy to manage as the mares are much more relaxed and the foals are happier.
