Welcome to Hillash miniature ponies.

Our ponies are kept alongside a herd of commerical beef, having drastically reduced the number of pedigree Dexter cattle to make way for our increasing pony numbers. Having bred New Forest ponies for several years we decided to downsize and miniature shetlands were the obvious choice. Even though we have kept ponies all our lives we were surprised at how playful and fun these little people are.

We have a wide range of colours, with a preference for duns and roans. We particulary like the New Park bloodlines as they are solid well-boned types. Our foundation stallion New Park McDuff sadly died in 2005, but we have retained several of his fillies. We now have southsands honeypot, a cream dun, who has produced some lovely foals this year (2007) some of which are for sale (please see our for sale page). Wotnotts Squirrel Nutkin, a lovely bay roan, has also had two foals this year and he is running with several additional mares to hopefully give us some great foals for 2008.

Our newest addition Wrens Zac, a piebald, has been given my two tall spotted mares to hopefully cover and a couple of small mares to keep his 'confidence' up.
